FAQ

You have questions. We have answers.

  • What types of bikes can I expect to ride?

The bike rental shop we partner with is constantly changing their stock and camps are during peak cycling season when stock can be low. Our standard bike is carbon frame with Shimano 105 or Ultegra.

  • Can I bring my own bike?

Certainly. Every year we have 2-3 people who choose to bring their own bikes.

Please let us know as soon as you can if you plan on bringing your own bike. We do not allow people to rent bikes from other suppliers in Mallorca.

To note: parts for North American bikes are not always easy to find in Mallorca should something break in transit (ie: derailleur hanger).

  • Can I rent a bike from somewhere else on the island?

Unfortunately, no. We have an excusive deal with our bike rental shop which helps keep the overall cost of the trip low.

  • What kind of weather can I expect?

Mallorca has excellent weather but it is a temperate zone climate. We have had high temperatures of 12C and 32C. In the Spring 20-22C would be an average high temperature and in the Fall 24-26C. Mallorca is a dry place but there are on average 5 days each month with some rain.

  • Can I come to Mallorca early or stay late?

Certainly! However, if you are not participating in a full Camp you may be booked into a sister hotel.

If you are hoping to add on a few extra days of cycling, please indicate on your booking form and we will contact you and see if we can make those arrangements.

  • What sort of gear do I need to bring?

We send out a packing list in the weeks leading up to camp, but the shortlist is: weather appropriate clothes, helmet, bike shoes, bike pedals, and anything else you like to take riding.

  • What distances and elevations can I expect?

While every group in each Camp may ride different routes, expect between 60-140 kms per day (see the Camp Details page for the Sample Itinerary) and elevation gains of 600-2800m depending on the day.

  • Do I have to ride every day?

No, of course not. However, we run a Cycling Camp not a bike tour, so our guides anticipate riders come ready to ride, having trained over the previous months and ready to give Camp your best effort.

For those coming as “non-riders” there is always the opportunity to rent e-bikes separately and tour on your own using our pre-planned routes.

  • What is the Trevoyages cancellation policy?

    Deposits Refund Policy:

Refund requests made within 14 days of receipt of the deposit are 100% refundable, less a $75 service charge. Trevoyages in turn makes deposits on room and board, bikes and guiding which results in your deposits being non-refundable after 14 days.

Balance of Camp Fees Refund Policy:

By the time you pay your final payment, Trevoyages will have paid in full for room and board, bikes and guiding, so those payments are nonrefundable when made by you.

Application for Special Consideration: Notwithstanding the above, if you suffer an injury which prevents you from riding, have a personal health crisis or a significant family health or other crisis, deemed as such by Trevoyages in its sole discretion, and if we are able to secure a partial refund from the hotel and the bike supplier on the basis of your issue, we will return an appropriate amount calculated at our discretion.

  • Will Camp prices change?

The prices of our Camps are up compared to the pre-Covid era. This reflects increased Hotel and Bike Rental costs, but also our making the Camps closer to All Inclusive by including the costs of a night away from our main accommodation and / or special group events; and supplying an all-Canadian Guiding Corps.
